The Crime of Perjury

Allegedly, in the real-life drama and legal battle of Vhong Navarro-Cedric Lee-Deniece Cornejo-Roxanne Acosta Cabanero, the camp of former beauty contestant Roxanne Acosta Cabanero denied that their charge of rape to Vhong Navarro states the specific time and date of its commission.

The said denial allegedly has irked Vhong Navarro's, thus it considers the filing of Perjury Case, among others, against Roxanne Acosta Navarro.

How does this crime of perjury be committed?  What would be the impossable penalty of this crime?

According to the Revised Penal Code, the crime of perjury may be committed by:

"Any person who, knowingly making untruthful statements, shall testify under oath, or make an affidavit, upon any material matter before a competent person authorized to administer an oath in cases in which the law so requires."

shall testify under oath:

If a person shall testify under oath, or, for instance, telling false statements in open court.  He/She is fully aware that what his/her statements in court are untruth or purely based in falsehood.

If a person is under oath, he/she is expected to tell the truth and nothing but the whole truth, otherwise, he/she shall be perjured himself/herself by telling pure lies in court.

make an affidavit:

The affiant is required to execute truth and that his/her statements are not lies nor based on twisted facts.  Executing lies in an affidavit will open his/her person in the charge of perjury.
Penalty to be imposed:

The penalty to be imposed shall only be arresto mayor in its maximum period to prision correccional in its minimum period.

Arresto Mayor consists of an imprisonment from 30 days and 1 day to 6 months.

Prision Correccional, on the other hand, is an imprisonment from 6 months and 1 day to 6 years.
